How the record is made, and how the check decides

The record

One record drives every page: the home, the unit pages, the revision pages, the check, the plan, the kit and the plain text files. Each model element carries its clause, its 2023 baseline, the change in the second edition, what to write, the evidence, the common gaps and the preparation. The record is built by a script, not typed into a page, so a correction appears everywhere at once.

Wording

Every requirement, evidence item and gap is our own paraphrase, written from the published edition and the public draft. Only clause numbers, titles and defined terms stay as the standard has them, because a reader has to find the clause. The text is not reproduced. A strict overlap check is run against the public sources before a page ships.

The check

Six answers, each mapped to a score. The reading is a count of coverage out of twelve, not a compliance score. A blank answer returns scope incomplete. An unsure answer returns scope incomplete rather than a lighter pathway. The actions are ranked by the cost of leaving the gap. The plan is four checkpoints between today and the date you enter.

AnswerWhat it changes in the result
EditionThe citation action and the vocabulary warning.
PerspectivesWhich of the three models are shown as covered.
CharacteristicsThe missing-characteristics action.
MeasuresThe measure and method action.
OwnerThe ownership action.
EnvironmentThe environmental action and the coverage row.
Planning dateThe four checkpoints and their dates.

What the check does not do

It does not read the requirements. It does not decide whether a measure is adequate. It does not audit, certify or give legal advice. It is a structured first pass, and it says so in the result.

The change layer

The FDIS text is not public. The change lines are read from the public draft and labelled draft. The stage record is read from ISO. When the published edition appears, the record is refreshed against it and the change is restated against the published text. The watch exists to make that moment visible.
